Hike this summer to the highest peaks in the Mountain-West USA.
The main hiking group is from Utah State University, Logan, UT. But anyone is welcome to come and join the hikes.
The plan is to do the highest peaks of 7 states: Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho.
We start with the easier ones and move on to the longest hike and the highest peak.
Most of the hikes are planned to be done over 3 day weekends.
The tentative dates are listed below:
Nevada: Boundary Peak
Elevation: 13140 ft / 4005 m
New Mexico: Wheeler Peak
Elevation: 13161 ft
Utah: Kings Peak
Elevation: 13528 ft / 4123 m
Arizona: Humphreys Peak
Elevation: 12633 ft / 3851 m
Idaho: Borah Peak
Elevation: 12662 ft / 3859 m
Wyoming: Gannett Peak
Elevation: 13804 ft / 4207 m
The mountain is the most remote of all the state high points in the lower 48 states. Using the primary route, it is a 40-mile round-trip to the summit from the trailhead.
<<2nd highest peak in 48 US>>
Colorado: Mt. Elbert
Elevation: 14440 ft / 4401 m
The dates above are tentative and can be moved around depending upon the will of the group.
Come and do One, Two, Three or all.
