Hamilton to race up Mount Washington twice

— Olympic gold medalist Tyler Hamilton will return not once, but twice to Mount Washington this summer to race up the rockpile. ...
There are two races up the beast of the Northeast this year, the popular August 19 Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb that benefits the Tin Mountain Conservation Center and the fledgling Newton's Revenge which makes its debut in July. The 34 year-old Hamilton once held the record for the fastest time up the mountain. That was in 1999 when he conquered the climb in 50:21. Hamilton was last year's winner as well.
But there has been a black cloud over Hamilton since he was found guilty of blood doping after first testing positive at the 2004 Olympics. He is now under a suspension from sanctioned racing after his appeals were denied. The competitions up Mount Washington are not sanctioned.
