I'm going out to New England next week for a highpoints trip. Anyone been up the Hunt Trail on Katahdin or the Van Hoevenberg Trail on Mt Marcy within the past couple weeks. How are the trail and summit conditions?

Haven't been up myself in the last few weeks, but from what I've read and heard, the snow is basically gone and the trail crew has been through. It's been very wet, however, and the black flies have started to hatch in the high peaks (they will be bad this year). Expect mud, bring deet and have fun.

A good place for trail conditions in the NorthEast is on Views from the Top.
