Outdoor Research Brooks Ranger Overboots (Supergaiters) size M
Are you heading off on an expedition to climb Denali or another peak with very cold conditions? Worried about keeping your feet warm?
These Brooks Ranger Overboots from OR (Outdoor Research) will help – a lot!
OR designed Brooks Rangers to be the warmest overboots ever made, and their widespread use on expeditions to the coldest places on earth has proven that they have succeeded. They are also the lightest, the most durable, and the most versatile of all overboots. Removable foam insulation and the design allows secure attachment of crampon bindings without having to cut holes in the toe and heel, as with neoprene overboots. Gore-Tex uppers trap heat, allow moisture to escape and protect the lower limbs from the elements. The unique instep Cinch-Strap allows you to cinch them down over inner boots or socks for around camp.
This pair of Overboots have been worn on a trip up Denali and a trip to the Himalaya, and are still in excellent condition. They have minor wear on the bottom near the toe of each boot, which has been taped over. Small tears on each boot have also been repaired. Aside from that, it’s hard to tell that these aren’t brand new. They’ve been stored in a box kept in cool, dry conditions when not in use.
Note that these are older Overboots, which may not be identical in features and materials to the Brooks Ranger Overboots being sold new.
Also included:
Ø 2 sets of removable foam liners per boot (use either the lightweight or the heavyweight foam – or use both for extra insulation)
Ø 2 sets of removable insoles per boot
The MSRP for new OR Brooks Ranger Overboots is $150. Here’s the OR description of their product:
