Heading to Gannett Peak next weekend and am wondering about conditions. Anybody been up the there lately? Trying to decide how many screws and pickets to take.

You may want to check out summitpost. I read an account there (pix included) of a guy who reached the summit about 2-3 weeks ago. A lot of snow (a lot more than I experienced during the same time period in 2007), but they've also had some hot weather recently. Gannet is a great mountain... enjoy.

Conditions on August 11 were all snow in the Gooseneck Couloir. no ice, lots of snow and the bergschrund was closed at the right side.
