Steve Mueller and I climbed Goode Mountain in July.
This was my 52nd park point (National Park Highpoint) of 58 NPs.

Our guide Paul Butler was GREAT and made the climb FUN.
Paul was grateful that I brought along photos by Charlie Winger.
Paul had previously climbed the NE Buttress and wasn't familiar with SW Couloir, which Charlie had climbed a year before.

It was a late spring, so there was snow in the couloir, and we set tents on snow fields which were talus for Charlie in 2009.

Great report. I remember seeing this on the map as i was finishing up the PCT and toying with the idea of trying to bag it. Now i know that would have been a ridiculous failure!

Stupid me assumed that Mt. Baker was the highpoint of North Cascades. It must be just west of the park boundary, hm?

Mt Shukshan is the highest point of the northern half of North Cascades National Park.

Mt Baker would've been the highpoint if the NPS and USFS had agreed to form Ice Peaks National Park, but the agreement fell through. I'm unsure if there are any plans to bring Baker into the park. I doubt it.

That's quite an accomplishment. I had no idea just how challenging it is to climb all the National Park highpoints. Great pictures. Looking forward to your book.
