"Inventor" of Highpointing

My friend Ed Erickson (35 HPs) of Marshfield, Wisconsin recently returned from a Highpointing trip to Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Florida. While he was at Britton Hill in Florida he met a couple who explained to him that they had decided to go to the highest point in every state. Ed explained to them that he was doing the same thing and showed them the Winger and Holmes guidebooks. The couple had never heard of the Highpointers Club and were astonished to learn that guidebooks were available and that there is a quarterly newsletter and a convention every year. Thought I would share the story.

Cool story

Just goes to show how difficult it is to come up with an original idea these days. Hopefully, Ed has brought these folks into the highpointing family through his chance encounter.

As for a truly original invention, I have this GREAT idea for a grocery bag spinner. Would allow the checkout clerk to fill plastic bags much quicker while you're checking out. I'm gonna make millions! happy.gif
