CHAPTER 18

Leaning hard against the bathroom door Lenny wondered what the hell she was doing. Not only had she thrown all of her own rules totally out of the window to be with Kevin but also she was starting to write a whole new bunch of rules to put along with them. “What am I doing?” She muttered to herself and then almost started laughing. Hell it was obvious to her what she was doing. She knew that Kevin wouldn’t have a clue and that was just the way that she wanted it to be. She didn’t want him to wade right in and take charge. She was enjoying the fact that she was able to keep him so off balance right now. If she thought about it she didn’t think that she could ever remember a time when she had seen him quite so thrown at all

“Good.” She said softly as she pushed herself away from the door and walked to the mirror. “That’s just how I want him to feel.” She added and smiled like the cat that had got the cream at her reflection. As much as she knew that she probably shouldn’t she still couldn’t help the burn of anticipation that worked its way through her body. Yeah she was scared but it was definitely tempered with something else. And she knew what it was ... it was tempered with desire.

Kicking out at the side of the bed Kevin let a strange noise sound from the back of his throat. Yeah he knew that he was acting like a spoiled child but right about now he couldn’t quite bring himself to give a fuck about that. The only thing that he did care about right now had just surprised him again and then disappeared into the bathroom. All he could think about was that he should have let her just take control when they were downstairs in the car. If he had done then he knew that right about now he would be feeling absolutely no pain. He grinned as he realised that that might be an understatement. He was pretty sure that they would have been setting off the car alarms down there.

She had been so into him ... and he had to decide to play chivalrous today. If he had just kept his mouth shut and clung to her then he would have won the bet by now. Then he found himself frowning. Hell that had been something that he hadn’t been thinking about at the time. He had just been so determined to make it good for her. He knew that in the position that they had been in her head had already been touching the roof of the car. He let out another small burst of laughter. They probably could have done some serious damage to his rental … and of course as usual he hadn’t gotten the insurance. “Yeah because that’s the part to focus on Kev.” He ground out still facing the wall.

“And now she has you talking to yourself.” Paul said with laughter in his voice. Oh he knew that he had been doing the right thing and when he saw them in the elevator that had become patently obvious. But he hadn’t realised the potential for comedy that was right here in front of him. “That is just so unlike you buddy.”

Growling deep in his throat Kevin spun on his heel and looked at the other man. “No, she hasn’t got me talking to myself. That would be your fault.” He snapped out. “What the hell do you think you’re doing here?”

“You didn’t think that I was going to make this easy for you did you?” Paul asked with a laugh. “Hell when I saw what was happening right in front of me ... well I just knew that I had to step in there and do something. I have no intention of losing that bet pal.”

Eyeing his friend Kevin wasn’t sure how he was managing to keep his anger in check here. Right about now he wanted nothing more than to just punch this guy right square in the face and then just bundle him the hell out of here. “When we discussed this I really don’t remember you saying that we were allowed to throw spokes into the other’s wheels.” He pointed out.

“Then you don’t know me as well as you thought you did.” Paul pointed out. “Seriously Kev, if the situations had been reversed you know that you would have done the same thing yourself. There’s no way that you would have just stepped back and let it all happen.

Smiling to himself Kevin knew that Paul was right. If he had seen this all unfolding then he was sure that he would have done everything in his power to make sure that it hadn’t happened. “But the situations weren’t reversed Paul.” He said shortly. “I was the one that Lenny was with. I was the one that she was getting comfy with.”

“Who are you kidding?” Paul said and just shot the other guy a look. “And come to think of it why the hell am I so worked up about this. Just because she was kissing you doesn’t mean that you were going to get any further.”

Lifting his head Kevin just smiled at the other man. He knew that right about now his grin must have been threatening to split his face. “Oh yeah, just keep telling yourself that Paul.” He said and saw something flash in the other man’s eyes. “You weren’t there when she was trying to climb me like a tree.” Then he took a couple of steps towards his friend in a menacing manner. “Now get the hell out of here before I throw you out.”

“Nope. Not going to happen.” Paul said with a definite shake of his head. “I can come up with some excuse that could keep me here for hours.”

Kevin opened his mouth to tell his friend just what he thought of that when someone else spoke instead.

“Well good ... that’s kind of what I was hoping for.”

Paul spun around when he heard the voice and could have kicked himself. She had only been in the bathroom after all. For all he knew she could have heard everything that they had been talking about. She could have heard him mention the bet! It was official, he was a dumbass! Then her words seemed to filter their way through his mind. “What is that supposed to mean?” He asked and knew that his face must be showing his confusion.

“Well I didn’t think that it was a brain buster.” Lenny said softly as she shoved herself away from the door of the bathroom and began to cross the room. She could only hope that she wasn’t showing how freaked out she was inside. “I was kind of hoping that you would be here for hours.” She repeated and brushed herself past him as she walked towards Kevin.

Frowning at her Kevin was pretty sure that his expression mirrored Paul’s. “Have to say that I’m kind of with Paul on this one Lenny.” He said honestly as he wrapped an arm around her not even having to think about it. He tugged her against him and almost instantly he was letting out a groan of pure frustration. “I thought that we had plans.” He said and then kind of cringed at his lack of subtlety.

“Oh real subtle there Kev.” Paul muttered and then arched a brow when Kevin gave him the finger. “Yeah, just as I thought, I’ll get more sense out of Lenny right now.” Then he remembered what she had just said and shook his head slightly. “At least that’s what I thought.” Then he pulled a face as he watched the woman in question stretch up and press a kiss to his friend’s lips. He started to get the feeling that maybe Kevin was right and he should just go. He really did seem to be the third wheel here.

Sliding his hands down her back Kevin let them rest heavily on her hips as he pressed himself into her. He couldn’t quite believe how open he was being while Paul was still in the room but he just needed to be touching her. She had him so wound up that he knew he could probably go all night without much prompting. “Paul, just shut the fuck up and get out of here.” He ground out and looked down into Lenny’s face. Nope, it didn’t look like having Paul turn up here had thrown her off her game at all. She still seemed to be really into this. Thank god, he hadn’t been looking forward to a night with this erection taunting him.

Pressing another hard kiss to his lips Lenny broke away and shook her head just barely then turned slightly towards the other man in the room. “No Paul, don’t leave.” She said and then grinned because she just couldn’t help it. Hey she might be better at this than she thought. “In fact, don’t go anywhere at all.” She added and then reached a hand out towards him.

“Um, not to sound like an idiot, but what the hell is going on here?” Paul asked and his words came out sounding gruff. Oh he knew what it looked like, he knew what she looked like as she just watched him but he told himself that he couldn’t be right about that. She couldn’t possibly be suggesting what he thought she was ... could she? Still he found his hand catching her smaller one and felt her try to tug her towards them.

She laughed, she couldn’t help it. And the sound spilled out of her mouth with a throaty murmur. “Oh I think that if you give it a moment’s consideration that you’ll know exactly what’s going on here Paul.” She said softly and when she felt him start to move towards them she turned her attention back towards Kevin.

“Oh no.” Kevin said quickly as it all started to fall into place in his head. He wanted to laugh. He seriously wanted to laugh out loud. This could not be happening. Oh not that he was a prude or that he hadn’t done anything like that before but this was different. He didn’t know exactly how it was different ... it was different. Looking down at Lenny’s face he wanted to see if he was screwing this up in his head and coming up with the wrong answer but he knew that as soon as he looked at her that he wasn’t. He was right. She wanted him ... but she wanted someone else to be there too. “No way Lenny.” He said very definitely. “You can get that thought out of your mind right now. It’s not going to happen.”

She pouted as lifting her hand she stroked it over his cheek then used her fingers to trace over his mouth. She didn’t think that she had ever seen a man with a better defined mouth than this one had. She let out a small gasp as he opened his mouth and flicked at her fingers with his tongue. She could see the need on his face and knew that all it would take would be very little effort on her part to get what she wanted. She bit at her own lip as he opened his mouth a little wider and sucked two of her fingers deep into her mouth. “But why can’t it happen Kevin.” She said in as sweet a voice as she could manage right in that instant. “Let’s have some fun.” She added and tilted her head to the side as she watched his face closely.

Pushing her fingers out of his mouth with his tongue Kevin knew that he was frowning again. Was it just him or did this seem so unlike her. His gaze lifted as he watched Paul slip in behind her and wrap his arms around her waist. He almost freaked when he saw how his friend was pressing himself along her body from behind. Then he took a deep breath. “Is this really what you want baby?” He asked and cursed the huskiness that coloured his voice. It was taking everything in him to hold himself together when all he really wanted was to throw Paul out of here then toss her to the ground and bury himself deep within her body.

“Let me think.” She said with a smile as she tilted her head to the side. Almost as soon as she did she felt Paul press his lips there and she let out a sound both surprise and need. Tugging a hand away from Kevin she lifted it and tangled her fingers in Paul’s hair. “Um, if I was capable of thinking.” She said and let out another gasp. “I’m in a hotel room with two gorgeous and sexy guys. There’s no strings attached ... I really don’t see the harm in us enjoying each other. We’re all grown ups.” She added lightly.

Sliding his hands up from her waist Paul cupped her breasts in his hands and smirked when he heard her little squeal at his actions. “Yeah definitely grown ups.” He said softly as he squeezed the soft flesh in his hands and shot Kevin a triumphant look.

“Please Kevin.” Lenny added and leaned a little heavier back against Paul. Shit, did the guy even have any idea what he was doing to her? Well d’uh, of course he did. “I want you so much.” She whispered to him.

Her simple words were enough to undo him completely and letting out a growl he quickly swooped down and covered her lips with his. “Then what are we waiting for?” He asked as he pushed all negative thoughts out of his head and bringing his hands to her shirt he began to pluck the buttons open as quickly as he could.
