What you do is you use a pushrod and first use oiled (be careful to use the RIGHT oil, as some oils can explode under pressure - diesel effect - and this may damage the gun) pads, then clean up with a couple of dry pads until all the oil is gone. Finish i up by firing a couple of felt pellets at the same time (firing only one will not create enough pressure to avoid the cilinder slamming into the breach).

In the case of the Winchester, because it lacks a lot of the safety mechanisms that other guns have (like the one that does not allow you to charge the gun when the stock is removed, or the one that does not allow you to fire the gun when the barrel is in the "broken" position), you can clean the gun and then, while FIRMLY holding the barrel, press the trigger and excert the force necessary to not let the gun shoot.
Basically it is the same thing as loading the gun but in the reverse order. When you fire the gun, make sure you excert the same pressure on the barrel as you would when cocking the gun, or it may come up and cause serious damage to either the user or the gun itself.
