A neighbor and I spotted a rather large raccoon in a tree along the woodline today. We've had issues with them carrying rabies in this area and with this one being so close to the house (and pets). My neighbor shot just behind it with a B3 underlever and only managed to piss it off (judging by the glare it gave us). I took my shot and the CP light entered the neck behind the jaw and traveled up into the head killing it instantly. It dropped approx. 20ft before hitting the ground. It weighed between 20-25 lbs and sounded like a ton of bricks as it passed through the foliage. Seems the 1000S was up to the task.

nice. we actually go on coon hunting trips out at my deer lease. we trap them and hunt them as they are a nuesance (sp) chewing up our deerfeeders, and setting of our cameras and sometimes even springing our hog traps. i have dropped 1 coon with one of my air guns, and might possably take it on more "hunts" for the tiny bear better known as the raccoon.
