I spent a rainy morning tuning the trigger assembly of my Turkish 1000X. Using your downloadable instructions, I polished all the indicated surfaces to about a 16 finish. I did not make your recommended spring change or the 2-stage upgrade. When I put the gun back together, I was blown away by how much better the trigger was. The trigger action is now so smooth and light that I have no plans to change the spring or add the 2-stage modification. I might not have been willing to do this without your excellent procedure.
My rifle is a pleasure to shoot all over again.
Thank you,
John W.

When you dissemble the trigger if you get your dremmel tool and cut 3/8's of an inch off a 3/16's drill bit"the shank end" it then you can assemble the triger comple out side of the rifle. Then just use the long pin to push out the 3/8's shorty pin.

I am in the proccess of tuning up my 800X..Trigger & tophat, I have printed out the trigger tune up as a reference. I have a question concerning the original screw adjustment, it appears to have no purpose at all? or am I missing something here? Also when I clean the barrel, piston, what should I re-lube the piston with? And has anybody actually had success with the tophat installation? turning the 800X into a 1000X? my inital attempt didn't work when I tried to pump the rifle it wouldnt cock?
Thanks

The original screw actually adjusts the length of the trigger pull, not really meant to adjust the weight. It adjusts how much of the sear surfaces are in contact with one another. Less contact equates to less length and to some degree, a lighter pull. Be carefull with this adjustment or the gun may fire on it's own. Adjust it in 1/8 turn increments and test it after each adjustment. Testing should involve cocking and loading the gun and then attempting to fire it with the safety engaged. If you can fire the gun with the safety on you've gone too far and further adjustment will make the gun fire on it's own. Always be sure that you have control of the barrel when loading it after making adjustments. If the gun attempts to fire on it's own at this point, the barrel will close rapidly and mostlikely bend. The dangers involved in this process are no different than with any other springer. Home tunes are a great experience and very satisfying but they need to be taken seriously otherwise damage to the gun or yourself can result. Work slowly and think before you act.
The piston needs to be lubed just behind the seal and at the rear with moly paste lube.
The gun would not cock because the top-hat was too long. Shorten it a bit and try again.
