Hi All. I am a new member of the forum and have owned a Brazilian 1000x for about 3 weeks now. After reading about all I can find on the subject, I turn to you guys for help. As you know, the trigger is AWEFUL on these guns, too late to return and look for a turkish model so I am stuck. I AM please with the guns accuracy and can only imaging it being comparable to some pretty spendy springers if it had a decent trigger. Does anyone sell a replacement/drop in trigger mod for these guns? I know Charlie da tuna is retiring( the day I find his site! ) and not sure if he had anything that would work on these guns or not. I have never disassembled an airgun and while I could probably build the spring compressor based on Charlie's site, I don't feel real comfortable filing, sanding, and polishing my trigger parts and then praying I got it all back together correctly! If no drop in mod is available, can someone reccomend a person to do a reasonably priced tune-up and trigger mod on my gun? I sure appreciate any input! Even cutting the trigger pull in half would be a HUGE difference! Thanks so much- Smitty

That was also my first chioce, but I could find no one to buy parts from.  That's why I went ahead and made my own...  I posted a tuning guide which will reduce the trigger pull quite a bit.  I wount lie and say that it will leave it copetition style or near the GTX trigger by Charlie da Tuna, but it will make it shootable (even enjoyable to shoot once you get used to it).  You can check it out at http://www.network54.com/Forum/392756/thread/1143356613/last-1144019912/Brazilian+Daisy+Winchester+1000X+tune-up+with+pics if you like.  As for making the trigger yourself, it is not really all that hard.  All you will need is a Drill (preferably a drill press), some files, and sanpaper (and, of course, the piece of aluminum to use for the trigger).  Oh, yeah, and a couple of washers to get rid of the trigger side to side movement.  I would recomend you give it a shot; besides, if you really screw up the trigger, you can always replace the one you were making with the one that came with the gun, and you can keep trying until you make one that is satisfactory to your needs...

Perhaps I will give it a try. I had looked at your tuning guide ( great job!) and it looked like all kinds of opportunities to screw something up :) How long did it take you to make the trigger and complete the tune-up?

The trigger was by hard the hardest part (especially because of all the filing and sanding to get a perfect fit), and that took a couple of hours at most.  The rest is fairly simple because of the small number of parts.  Putting the saer spring on may take you about a half an hour of trying to get it just right; that was the hardest step in putting the gun back together because of the limited space to work with...
