I did the easiest possible trigger mod to my Turkish 1000sx (counter-sunk the trigger screw), and just noticed (safely, fortunately) that the safety no longer works. When I pull the trigger with the safety on, the trigger pull is slightly harder, but the rifle still shoots.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Do I just need to increase the trigger pull some to get the safety to catch again?

as it can lead to an unsafe gun. You've run the screw in a bit too far which has resulted in the safety no longer functioning as intended.

Rather than relying strictly on the screw mod for improvement, you need to get in there and polish some surfaces. That will ease up the pull weight and allow the screw to work as intended, adjusting the trigger pull length.

You can find my guide for tuning this trigger here...

Be careful.
