Oh boy, I ordered a 1000b-got a 1000x-in a 1000sb box!! The barrel was extremely dirty but the gun does not look used.

Did I get a used one maybe???

Are the barrels usually this dirty??

Thanx for any replies.

Ya the barrels are always dirty that's the first thing you do with a new rifle is clean the barrel real good !!

Also take the stock off and clean off the factory grease and re-lube with moly lube.

Thanx for the reply. Well I read about the trigger pull but didn't think it would be this hard! Man is it hard!

Check out the post by russ on what to do to tune the trigger. It will smooth out a bunch by itself after a 1000 or so pellets, it takes this many to break the rifle in.

But tuning it will make it an acceptable trigger out of it right away.

It can be downloaded here. http://webpages.charter.net/guru1/documents/index.html

It will make the trigger useable, but it will still be a bit hard; you'll get used to it, though (in other words, dont expect a 2lb trigger pull).

i have a hatsan mod. 60 its the same rifle as winchester 1000x.well about the trigger you can remove the main spring on the trigger.but beware the trigger loses too much weight when done so.

and found it to be less than safe. Although changing springs can improve this trigger, a good polish job and a few other tweaks works much better and keeps the guns safe.

I took the trigger spring and stretched it. Then cut some off which improved the pull noticeably. I'm going to do this to the sear spring as well.
