First time to work on an air rifle, looks like I blew it. May have "over polished" the top and bottom shears, when I try to cock the rifle the top shear slips off the cylendar. Any ideas? Thanks for the help in advance.

By the way I had wrote Daisy and they stated that the trigger is set to 20 lbs at the factory and could not be changed. I know that with the hard pull it was worthless to try and shoot accurately with this gun.

It appears that I took off too much in polishing and rounding off the sears (not shears). When cocking, the cannot engage (appear like the photo on page 5). Any ideas. I konw that Daisy does not sale replacement parts, is there any where anyone know of to get them? Thank you,

Russ, contacted the NZ forum, Greyskull had a solution. Tried it today and it worked. I had to rework the sears, get their angle right. Shot it all afternoon and it is much better, reduced the pull and it is much easier to put good groups together. Thank you, Brody

I am about to attempt the same mod, and want to make sure I get it right!

Thanks!

Trigger fixes

You can find the process on Russ' site:

http://webpages.charter.net/guru1/documents/index.html

I contacted greyskull at:

http://www.nzairgunners.com/nzairgunforum/index.php

In short, instead of rounding the top of the sears I kept them sharp. Also, the surface of where both sears mate when cocked I left smooth but slightly rough instead of polished. I also kept both stock springs instead of changing the spring in the sears. All else I did exactly as Russ instructed.

Good luck,

Polishing and rounding of the sears is something that you have to be careful with. I am glad you were able to get it functional again by redoing the edges.

From what I hear, the new version of this gun offers some improvement over the old 20 pound trigger. Guess I will find out when I get around to buying another.
