Bob, from the picture it looks as if the safety catch in front of the trigger is somewhat similar to a Gamo, so it's possible that it could have been made by Norica, which produces Gamos in Spain.

It would be an interesting to see if the trigger mechanism was different than the current Daisy 1000. If it WAS made by Norica, and it IS similar to a Gamo, it would be a prime candidate for one of the replacement drop-in trigger blades or inserts that greatly improve the stock Gamos trigger.

If you take the barrel/receiver out of the stock, and post a pic of both side views of the trigger mechanism, it may tell us a lot.

I missed the third picture you already posted of the trigger. I'm no expert, but it does have a resemblance to the Gamo trigger (though I might be able to tell better when I can look at my Gamo 440 at home). But if you could post a couple pics of both sides of the trigger group after the barrel/receiver has been taken of the stock (remove the two bolts in the sides of the stock forearm, and the 2 screws in the trigger-guard, then carefully separate the two parts), it might be easier to see just how similar it is.

I got home a little while ago and looked at my Gamo 440. This picture that you posted:

http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/3673/1001781pf1.jpg

looks for all the world like the 440's trigger from that angle. I'd have to go with Norica as the Spanish manufacturer. More convincing still would be to see side pics of the un-stocked trigger group.

Looks like you've got a cracked trigger guard under the rear screw. I wonder if a Gamo replacement would fit...

looks to be a Norica. Can't be sure the GRT trigger would fit but I bet some of the inserts that are available out there would. That gun should really benefit from a tune.

That's pretty cool that it ends up being a Gamo product. If the stock trigger is at all problematic, I'd strongly suggest one of the aftermarket replacement trigger blades or inserts for Gamo's. The only one that I've had any experience with is the GRT-III from this guy (great service, fast shipping, can order online):

http://www.charliedatuna.com/

I've got one of his replacement triggers in each of my two Gamo's (CFX and 440) and now the trigger feels like a true 2-stage target trigger, smoother, lighter and more positive than I'd have thought possible, but still safe. The drop-in replacement trigger comes pre-adjusted and takes less than 10 minutes to install, plus the installation is so easy I think my 6-year old neice could do it. Without trying to sound like a commercial for it (oops, too late ;~), you wouldn't believe the difference even if I told you.

Hope that helps.

Looks just like my Crosman 1000X which was made in China. The screw adjusts trigger pull. Jack
