Hi, I'm trying to take the spring out of my 1000s but I'm stuck. I'm going to be building a spring compressor like the one on the kermit airgun site. It uses a c-clamp as the decompressor rather than a normal bolt. My problem is I don't know how it works. I assume I position the action with the muzzle against the end block, and the compression tube against the c-clamp side. But the saftey unit thing is in the way, and I don't know how to take that off. I took out a pin that held the 'hammer' in place, but the plastic end cap thing is still on. After its off, I still don't know what to do. I assume I'd need to take a bolt or pin out somewhere to realease the pressure of the spring onto the c-clamp then slowly unscrew the clamp till the spring was no longer under tension but I don't know what bolt to turn or remove or whatever. The daisy is on top in the first picture, and the other pictures are close-ups of the saftey mechanism and plastic end cap. Thanks guys I really appreciate your help.

Josh, if you go to this link:

http://webpages.charter.net/guru1/documents/index.html

it'll take you to some resources that Russ Sauer has available on his website. Click on the one called "Daisy 1000X Tuning Guide" to download a zip file that, when saved to your computer and unzipped, contains a good overview of the tuning process, including disassembly. When you unzip the downloaded file, open the folder that contain the files, and double-click on the 'index.html' file, which will open up the guide in a browser.

Russ also has a trigger guide for the 1000X linked on the same page.

Good luck.

Bryan

Thanks for the link Bryan and thank you Russ for your work in getting the information up and sharing it .
A friend did a lube tune on my 1000s a few weeks back and the trigger spring was hard to get back in place.
This'll make it much easier for me to do it next time.

Mine is a Walmart Daisy Powerline 1000s made in Turkey that was hard hitting, accurate, and rough before the lube; now it shoots much smoother and quieter. It cocks easier too. Now it's a pleasure to shoot.
Properly tended to, these guns are a real good buy for the money. I've ordered a Chrony alpha so I'll be interested in seeing what velocities I get from it.

as most of the D/W 1000's I've tested are dead on 1000 fps.
I am glad that the guide has helped you and that you are enjoying a much smoother gun now. It is amazing how well they respond to a little TLC.

I would love to see some targets if you get the chance to post them. I have a 65 yard range that I shoot on and the D/W would more than hold it's own against other guns.

Take care.

Russ S.
