hello everyone i am new to this forum but not to airgunning, i found this place while looking for info on the daisy powerline 1000s. my local wallyworld had them on sale for $75 so i thought i would give one a try. after reading some of the posts here i was convinced it was worth a shot. my other springers are a crosman g1 extreme (gamo clone) and a chinese b21 (rws 48 clone) that i shortened the barrel and re-crowned. both will shoot one hole groups all day at 10 yds. it,s too cold and snowy out for long distance shooting at the moment so i get my fix where i can! i havent had a chance to do much with the 1000s yet have tried the trigger and found it breaks at about 5 lbs out of the box, i thought that was a big problem with these guns, maybe i just got lucky? i will sight in and try some different pellets tommorow and report back, i'm not worried about the scope that came with it as i have the same thing on my b21, and if it holds up as well as that one i will be happy. thanks for the info on this forum, you all helped in my decision to try this rifle. shoot safe, shoot often, county bob

Welcome. I'm kinda new too, but I've found everyone to be helpful.
I posted some chrony numbers on my 1000s under Deal on 1000s thread and I think you'll be pleased to see them.
I definitely think a lubing and smoothing will be worth your while. The trigger is a pain to get reassembled into the gun and you have to be careful with the hammer at rear when releasing spring tension. I wouldn't take it apart without a spring decompressor.
Best,
Charlie

I have noticed that a lot of these rifles are not very consistent in the manufacturing. The newest rifle I bought has a very light trigger pull but massive amounts of creap and the adjustment screw seams to do nothing. The barrel is also lose and there seams to be nothing that I can do about it even though the gun is dead on the target. I recently picked up my old trusty CZ 631 loded it, pulled the safty, and shot the floor above my basement due to the hair trigger and the fact that I have been shooting the Daisy so much with the long trigger pull. I am going to use the stock on my older Daisy and fill it with sand or quick creet to see if that helps with the scope mount problems due to the violent recoil of these rifles. I read somewere that a guy did this and even though the gun was heavy it stoped the recoil that plagues us all. I will let you know what happens with this. I shoot from a bench so weight is not a problem but in the field hunting you will not want to do this to your gun. Even with the one part scope mount my gun still wants to rip the mount off and rubb its face in the dirt. The grub screw has already ovald out the hole for the stop and the one piece mount is ready to go flying at any time. Shooting this rifle is like driving an old ford truck with a solid axil, there is no forgiveness but the job still gets done. And welcome

The more recent 1000's are rumored to have an "improved" trigger out of the box.
Based on feedback from my trigger guide, the basics remain the same and the mods in the guide still work but the weight is a bit lighter to begin with now.
Concerning Anon's loose barrel, that would be a first. Every one I've seen had a very solid breach with no play. Perhaps it is a loose barrel pivot bolt.

Prepare to purchase a 1 pc scope mount. You'll spend alot of time toying with this rifle, but it pays off. This thing is like a tank. But, I must say that each one is a little different than the one before it on the assembly line.
Kinda the luck of the draw.
I've had the best luck with the "heavies" like the beeman silver arrow, they fly well in this rifle.
Get used to noise, too. BOY HOWDY, don't even bother trying the Gamo Raptors-your air rifle sounds like a .22lr each time you fire these!!!!
Finally, the trigger will take the longest to soften up. I never adjusted mine and it settled in on its' own very nicely(even though its' being replaced)LOL
happy hunting
