I have read many posts regarding the acuracy of the daisy 1000 and the only conclusion that I can come up with is the ammo. Stay away from the Wal-mart offrings and go with web or mail order ammo. I have tested many brands of ammo and have found that only match grade ammo will be acurate in these guns. How many times have you found that some pellets fit very tight and then the next one almost falls out while closing the breach. In match grade all of the pellets are boxed from the same mold and not from different molds like you see in most brands sold in the department stores. Its not the guns fault that you cannot keep a tight group or kill that pesky varment, just check your ammo. Would you go deer hunting with inferior ammo that almost fits your rifle or would you make shure that every round is a perfect match so that your gun shoots true on every shot? Air guns are no different in what you load in will make a difference on your target, I have target groups that vary by 3 inches with the (big box) stores ammo compared to having five or six pellets go through the same hole at fifteen yards that are match grade that I ordered online from one of the best air rifle stores that you can posibly go to. Do I need to say the name or not? I do not want this thread to be a comercial so I will just leave it at that. Just remember that this gun is a very acurate gun if given the right ammo and that the scope is properly mounted. In the end you will have to go out and buy new ammo, scope mounts, and eventualy a new scope to realy zero this gun in but once you do this rifle is unbeatable

Thats interesting because with a good cleaning the right lube in the right places and a truing of the barrel end my 1000x seems to shoot fine with the Crosman wads and the hollow point premiums. Hmmm?
Although it would be nice to even further tighten up the groups with some premium professional match pellets For me I'm pretty happy with the way it is.
Good to hear though.

I agree, the only ammo that I EVER had any luck with from Wal-Mart was the Gamo series, and they dont even sell that anymore.
Try the Beeman silver arrow. Ultra stable and very accurate(11.5g)
they also hit squirrels like a sledgehammer. NO defects from the tin!
Gamo Hunter and match have given the next best performance.
Daisy, crossman ad the other "walmart ammo" is awful and all pellet skirts are different sizes and shapes.
