When I asked Daisy about my powerline 1000s a few months ago, they were nice enough to take my entire rifle in and refurbish it for FREE(including shipping). I spoke to Anthony Stratis at Daisy. He told me that since my rifle was manufactured with faulty parts 4 yrs ago and many of these problems have been rectified in newer rifles by Daisy, that he would take care of my rifle for me for free! I had initially called to see if they could quote me on a price for a trigger tune up.
When I visited the website a few mins ago and looked at the pic of this Winchester 1000sb, it is the EXACT same rifle as my newly refurbished powerline 1000s.
Pros:
-slimline, lighter weight stock
-cross hatched pattern on stock grip areas
-improved factory sights(doesnt look like it came from a gumball machine anymore)
-3.5lb trigger pull versus the former trigger pull of 12lbs!
Cons:
-lighter MORE HOLLOW stock produces and amplifies MORE of the recoil noise into your ear! VERY LOUD from the shooters standpoint
-Slimline stock is not as comfortable in the foregrip area as the older synthetic stocks were, less to grab onto
-NO MORE MONTE CARLO RAISED CHEEK REST!!!!!!!!!!!This is the LARGEST drawback to this newly redesigned rifle.
-STILL, no 1 pc scope mounts. This rifle produces some of the WORST recoil that I've dealt with on a pellet rifle. Factory scope mounts still suck.
Not a bad rifle because only the attachments have changed. the piston, piston housing etc are all still the same.
The largest drawbacks to this rifle stem from the stock. PERIOD. Buy the wooden stock model to dampen recoil and NOISE!!!
If I had not had this conversion done for free, I would steer clear of the synthetic stocks for these rifles, they are BRUTAL. | |
