Response to Squires' letter in the Star (19/7/06)

I don't know why Squires is denying the existence of his own group, George Anthony doesn't -- at least not on the "Marxism" newsgroup. This is his comment to the posting of the Weedy Wanker report on the last Marx Memorial Library AGM (which also mentions the "Mike Squires Group")by "Jack Cade":

PS -- Anthony seems to have missed out some zeros in his sums!

Dear Jack
Your comments are nearly right
The group operates independently of the CPB
Rosser has always had a dubious record. Always quoting the rules in her
defence.
On the Morning Star, she used the Co-Operative rules of the Peoples Printing
Press Society.
But the journalists strike eventually led to her defeat at the PPS AGM. Now
she hides behind the Charity Commission rules. For instance, I received a
solicitors threatening letter, not to advertise the Marx House AGM in the Islip
Newsletter. Woodrow Wyatt knew what he was doing in giving the Library,
Charity Commission status
If people lapse, by oversight, they have to have a Proposer and Seconder to
get back and show that they will not be "non-using"members. The membership as
a result has dropped by 280 in 3 years. And the present General Committee has
lost nearly £300,00 since 1999. But that didn't stop them giving the former
Librarian some £35,00 in redndancy pay, who is replaced by a Director
Librarian. The Library building alone, is in an area being redeveloped and worth
millions.
George Anthony
