Response to Burgess fiction
Your problem Gabriel is that you don't read what I actually said on Mary Davis but resort to childish abuse. To make it easier for you I have reprinted it below (even though it is only a few posts above)
"...in a letter in Wednesday's Morning Star headed "Dodgy Livingstone has no place in the Star".
The former national chair of the CPB, long suspected by the old Rosser/Hicks group of being a member of the shadowy Straight Left faction, likes to pose as an orthodox Marxist-Leninist. Now she is opposing the decision to give Ken Livingstone a regular column in the Star "in view of Livingstone's suspension from the Labour Party and Shami Chakrabarti's inquiry into anti-semitism". Though she says she doesn't support "John Mann's outrageous tactics" she says the Livingstone column is "highly embarrassing" and "serves to muddy the waters among our allies while at the same time detracting from our own stated opposition to anti-semitism".
Who are these "allies"? Prof. Davis doesn't say. But some are clearly the pseudo-left clique in Momentum that is trying to silence any anti-Zionist voices within the Labour Party. She claims that Livingstone "has a chequered history of making injudicious comments bordering on the anti-semitic" and concludes with "I, as a communist and a Jew, am personally affronted by the privileged treatment he is receiving. I can only hope the decision to offer him a column will be reversed".
