Crosman Pistol Safety Detent Spring & Ball

In a post below Izzie curses the little fiddly safety detent spring & tiny ball bearing that (temporarily) inhabits the frame of Crosman pistols. Those two items are responsible for more crawling around on the shop floor wearing out the knees of your pants and profanity than any other thing I can think of with old Crosmans.
Frustration and impatience combined forced me to come up with a home-grown solution quite some time ago. The sping from a throw-away butane lighter is just the right thing to make two of the springs when cut in half. The head of a large straight pin ('Bank Pins' to be specific) with about 1/8" to 3/16' of shaft still attached works much better than that *&^%$#@! little bouncing bearing anyway. Just cut the pin to length, slide the remaining shaft of the pin into the spring, stick it pinhead first into the gun and you're in business'
Sure makes giving up cussing easier.

I thought a page of read only material might be nice. There have been lots of tips and information given on the forum. So to preserve it, I put it in the "Library" so everyone can see it later.
