Color images of Condor Legion planes

Mr. Akira Takiguchi is the collector who owns the color images. In a short e-mail exchange he reported having purchased two wooden boxes of Agfa color slides, one containing a duplicate set, reproduced from the other, original set of slides. Their ink color was very much faded when he received them. The attached scans show how they appear before and after enhancement, done by Mr. Takiguchi using computer software. As stated in my posting of June 28; I do not believe these images are in good enough condition to permit accurate identification of the medium gray color paint used on J/88 Bf-109s. But I believe the enhanced Bf-109_He-112 image is good enough to discredit use of a dark green such as RLM 62, at least by the time that image_photo was made, probably in Spring, 1939.

Thanks for identifying Leon as the location for the Bf-109_He-112 image. Mr. Takiguchi reported it is the only one with Bf-109s in view. Note the K/88 He-111, seen behind the Condor Legion honor flag in the image below.

Mr. Takiguchi has shared only a few of his images with me. The scenes they capture appear to be from scattered locations, the one below is the victory parade in Berlin in mid 1939. It would appear the photographer was very sparing in his use of color film at any one location. I do not believe there are many slides in the set that illustrate Condor Legion planes.
