I'm in the process of building an Eduard I-16, type 10 in the markings of the Spanish Civil War. I bought the Osprey book on Republican aces and it shows an I-16 with an opening on the forward starboard fuselage not common to standard I-16s. Anyone know what this is or have any decent images they can share. I believe they changed engines and armament for the Super Moscas. Thanks for your help.

The I-16 Type 10 does not have starboard door only a port side. The double door was typical from the 18 series.

Greetings from spain.

Thanks, but I was not referring to the door. In the Osprey book on Republican aces, there is an illustration of an I-16 showing an opening on the fuselage. I am wondering if that is because of the engine swap for these vewrsions.
