| Has anybody heard anything else on that rumor that GO is being offered McManus in this film? It sounds like a really interesting true story/character. I've only seen that one article so far and that was over two weeks ago. They also said they wanted to film it during the world series of poker which I believe is next month already! |

What was the story line and full movie title?
That's not the one he's doing with Robert Carlisle is it? The dark comedy?
He's getting busy , these days (Yay!!!!!), it's hard to keep up with his smoke!
Where did you see the afore mentioned article,Spamlet?

no kathy it's about a movie about poker players i think at las vegas i found only one thing about that in a website
"That's OK, though. He's fine with it. He schedules his appearances around poker tournaments and is looking forward to making a few more final tables in 2004. "Positively Fifth Street" is being made into a movie by John Ridley ("Undercover Brother"), and it looks like Gary Oldman will play McManus. They'd like to film at the 2004 World Series of Poker, which may be the last in Binion's Horseshoe before Harrah's, the new owner of the tournament, moves it to the Rio "

Ahhh...
For a moment, Laurie, you have taken my breath away... :D
I read your answer away too quick, and for some reason I thought that the movie was going to be shot in Rio as well. I live 45min away (by plane) from Rio de Janeiro, I was starting to plan to go there! lol That all in just in a second!
I guess anyways you're trying to type Reno. :-)
Oh well. Who knows GO decides to shot something in Brazil some day? ;-) |

with all the stars these days. Its so macho, I guess. Ya really need some big ones to do it well.
IF I werent already sufficiently compulsive enough, I'd love to play poker for a living. As it is, I avoid all forms of gambling , at all cost! (ok, i'm lying, I do love my lottery on occation) I just cant stop ( yes, tried it before, came this close to getting hooked). OH, the poker face, calculating the odds, throwing the money out ever so casually all while breathing no harder than a quiet afternoon nap.
And having big enough ones to bet the big bucks and win or loose with grace and style, oh, yeah, I could so easily get hooked!
Bet he has a great time making this movie. Gary and Scott, whatta team. I love the movies Scott makes with T. Hopkins.
Thanks for the 411
guys, now I have another Gary movie to look forward to! | |
