Having looked everywhere, and rapidly reaching my wits' end, I've began posting in Oldman forums looking for the writer of a track played in the movie: it's where Billy is met at the door to a high-rise building by a dreadlocked man, and led by him further into the block to the dealer's house. The song has a very moody, almost trip-hoppy feel to it, with a female vocal containing the lyrics, "...people risin' - just like the flowers they bloom". I have searched Google to death with no luck whatsoever. Could anyone help me? You wouldn't believe how grateful I'd be to be able to locate the artist's name(s) so that (hopefully) I can purchase the recording, however obscure the track may be!
Thanks for reding this!

else, I think you started it I had found a list of songs from Nil by Mouth in the Nil by Mouth screenplay book, no luck there? the thread should still be around.....
Thanks, lilac! Armed with your information I'm off into town (we have some fairly large bookstores here) to see if I can find a copy!
I'll post back with any luck I have (I wasn't able to find the other thread you mentioned, and it wasn't by me, I'm afraid, so I wouldn't know where/when it was. Boo hoo!!!)
Thanks again!

The closest match I could find was 'Some Flowers Bloom Dead' by Wallflowers. Can't make any promises that it's the one though. It contains the lyrics:
Now in another world
I could learn to forget
But 'til then I'm here
making room for new regrets
Now some flowers they never bloom
But some flowers just bloom dead
Now some flowers they never bloom
And some flowers just bloom dead
