I know some of you here will not believe me....so this is for those of you who do:
Last night I took a chance and called SE8 once more, thinking I'll leave a message regarding this forum and pose the question, are we being heard by Mr. U?
Who did ya get to talk to E?
I wonder if anyone from his cadre does come to this site on occation?
Fascinating to know, but not important.
This is really for us, since The Powers That BE dont really care, we should focus on our opinions, not theirs.
Cant wait to see his next new film, counting the nanoseconds!
Kat
Douglas accepted my call. Any time I call, I ask for Douglas and SE8 group, as a way of letting him know that I am calling about film, not representation or agency communications.
It has been months since I spoke with Douglas. We have only met once, though when he accepts my calls and he returns my calls, well, I feel like a comedian on the Tonight Show and Carson, the King, waves me over to the couch like Ellen Degeneres.
It means something to have a call taken.
Also, I asked about the Morton episode and the site..it IS Official.
Douglas asked me several questions, and at one point, I made him laugh with the answer. It is always nice to make him laugh.
I still don't have a literary agent, but when I do, he said I CAN send him something.
So let me clarify Eva. Douglas Urbanski doesn’t come to this forum? But yet he posted his website to this forum. His message can be viewed on page three, so he has been here. Just curious that’s all and what did you two talk about?
Thanks Doug for the info, I have been a little behind on news regarding Gary. lucy
Yep, most production co's wont accept an unsolicited manuscript unless ya have an agent. REally, it protects you too. Getting a script in shape to be taken seriously, one that it not only doable but will bring in mega bucks is not small feat. Good luck ,E! You'll make it, you've got...hmmm, not balls, but the female equivalent thereof! LOL!
ONe Q I'm just dying to have answered. Do you know him socially so he will accept your call, or can basically anyone give it a go? (As to whether or not he will take a call from whoever, who knows?)
on laurie'e website i watched some film clips of gary at the sundance film festival...well needless to say that douglas urbanski is exactly how i pictured him! a jolly fellow indeed and he seems very personable. lucy
Hey lucy!
Mind sending me Lauries addy? I usually just click on her mails, but she hasnt been on lately. I want to check that out on the site. Shouldnt that site be linked to this one?
Doug must be fairly personable and attractive to do what he does, not to mention accomplished in his own right. Bet he does look like the quintessential Manager/producer type. He and Gary make quite a team.
Been very curious ( my word of the day), did Gary graduate from college, if so what is his degree equivalent to here?
And is it true they only formed their production co to make Nil by Mouth? I know it takes years to bring projects to fruition, but are they planning to produce anything in the next year or two?
I wonder what Gary would REALLY like to do next? What type of part or movie would really move him. He said romantic comedy a few years ago, but what about now?

here you go kat...then click multimedia. lauries site is pretty much up to date, she would have a better idea of gary's newest project. but gary and douglas are so charming. remember to check out the nobody's baby premiere. lucy
garys education is the one thing i have been confused about because no two sites are ever the same. one site said he studied in kent england and recieved his B.A. another at the royal academy and such. so doug what do you have to say about this? SE8 also produced nobody's baby. lucy
Yes, well glad to know that I am not the only one confused on this score. Just would be interesting to know.
Especially the equivalence of British and American degrees.
Maybe I should as my pal Daphne, , but then she is going to an American school in London, hopefully , she would know.
Even if I found out he didnt graduate, it wouldnt bother me one wit. Lot of great actors drop out and go on to great success. I know he hated school. Me too , til i went to college later in life, by then I was more realisically movtivated. Just too flippin expensive for a single mom to go for very long! But, did make the deans list while I was there.Nice to know I can do it!
Thanks agin,Lucy! I'm off to Lauries site!
