Use envelopes to make "pockets" that have each of the letters of the alphabet on the front of them and then make cards with matching letters. Take each letter card and say the name of it and then find the one it matches and put the letter in. Once Mikey had got the matching part of it we started using lower case letters on the cards (there were uppercase letters on the envelopes) and then putting the letters in. We also talked about putting in words that begin with a given letter or pictures of words that start with that letter but we never did it. This would be a great way to expand it though .
