Whilst cleaning up around the area of The Rocket's EP valve box this morning prior to trying to fix the gear problem later this week, I discovered the label on the brake pump which reveals it was made by Sauer-Sundstrand, a worldwide company which merged with Danfoss in 2000. This again brings it home how much our buses have changed (at least the refurb ones) from those covered in the Walker Manual, which describes the Plessey pump - just as well some of bits are still the same......!!! (It does seem that the infamous "quill" is still the same and in my case has a slide-on grease connector which I shall be giving a precautionary squirt).
