While preparing 531 for its MOT recently I had the pleasure of noticing that the flexi exhaust section over the rear axle was looking a bit worried. So off I goes to CES in Chester (Chester Exhaust Supplies) where I win a new 2 meter length of flexi for the grand sum of £27. Then I go to fit it and with possitively orgasmic pleasure I also find that the lengths of rigid pipe which join it at either side of the back axle (immediately after the silencer and before the tailpipe) are corodeed to teabag like qualities and fall apart into a big crusty mess when I try to undo the clamps. The tailpipe while intact looked decidely ill as well. So after finding the part number on the ROOF site- handy, thanks- I visit Serck Intertruck in Ellesmere Port, at 4.50 pm, who phoned Dinex the manufacturers, in Warrington. Parts in stock and on the shelf. 10am next morning, phone call from Sercks to say the parts are in and waiting for me. Bit dear at £133 all in, they tell me Dinex are known to be pricey and Sercks didn't make much on the deal. Top service from Sercks and CES, highly recommended.
