As a point of interest, after buying RML2603 we had to find somewhere to put her. I knew from my experience in the life assurance business - Sun Life of Canada, Bromley office, 1982-? - that prospecting was the answer. 'Cold calling' through Yellow Pages to numbers that looked vaguely to do with transport/buses/etc. yielded 2 possibles and one definite within about 7 calls. My experience at SLOC was about 1 in 7, also. Funny that. Must be a law of the universe. Therefore, anyone struggling to find parking for their bus should take note. Question: How many calls have you made to find parking? Answer: You can do it in 7...!

With all due respect to you John, and don't take this the wrong way, but I wouldn't be here unless I had tried just about every bus company in this area and was told the same thing......no. Not to mention the fact that I actually own two vehicles, one of which fails under the LEZ therefore space has to be found outside of the zone.
Thanks for the reply though

If you find somewhere near to Marden/Maidstone I would be interested as the rate of rent I'm paying is crippling me bloody greedy farmers!!!
Cheers

storage crisis

This is becoming a real can of worms.
People with vehicles stored but licenced inside the LEZ but not on the road are starting to get fines sent through for breaching the LEZ. It seems wardens are noting down anything they see regardless of whether it is on the road or not. If they can photograph the tax disc and registration plate you could get fined.
Another one to ask Boris what he's going to do about this travesty before he gets elected.
Farms and storage facilities outside the Lez in the London area are now asking for hundreds of £££s per month as demand for all sorts of vehicular storage has soared. In West London one rather dodgy site is asking £750 per week with no security !!
.Garaging for even the smallest of cars has shot up 12 fold in just 2 months here. I can no longer justify keeping a classic vehicle in London so a lifelong hobby comes to a close as I will have to part with it.
If my 'X' helps kick out the person responsible for this ill concieved gimmick that has had all sorts of effects that he and his cronies simply would not answer when challenged, then I will be a shade happier.

Tony ,
For no reason other then to save myself from problems of tax disc theft , which is so easy on these buses , I personally NEVER leave my tax disc anywhere on my RML , only carry it with me when bus is on the hghway so making the inquisitors and theves job even harder . I simply carry the necessary documentation with me to ' produce ' if required .
Purely a comment nowt else ..
