Well I thought my bus steering wheel was a bit ropey, seeing it has about three inches of cracked and exploded plastic coating on one of the spokes.
But the details of coating companies will come in handy.
Who's the best one Al ?
Cheers
JayDay.

Rob ,

If it wasn't there to be seen like that I'd say ' no chance / no 'ope ' .... where would one start is the question ...... I have no idea other than to say I would start with it being very carefully ' shot blasted ' to bare metal and sprayed with a protective coat of somesort then put it away safe & dry . Unless you carried on the April fool bit then all the RM bus steering wheels I've seen that have suffered coatings removals were very round in all aspects with the finger grips carefully moulded in as part of the manufacture so recoating is easy ....... unless they changed them during the build to the rounded ones then this is not an RM steering wheel .. ...

Anyone got other clues or info on this .. ?

Tried contacting Plastic Coatings Ltd. Seems they have decamped to the West Midlands and the RMOOA booklet may need updating. Are there any in the South?

I've used Nylospray and they did good jobs on RM/rt/rtl/rf wheels but they can only do cast or built up wheels,eg rf

That piccy doesn't look like a RM wheel, could be another type of AEC wheel?
