if your rml if making a creaking noise on the front bulkhead, check your bulkhead to A-Frame mounting bolts as some may have broken off,RML2620 had 7 broken on the offside,1 on the nearside.this was discovered while the cab area was dismantled.

Hi Jason,
You say you found this problem when the cab was stripped out on 2620 , can you get to these bolts etc on a complete bus ?
Cheers
Mark

Jason ,
Thanks for pointng this out , Dave showed me on the bus exactly what you refer to and it came as a surprising shock to see such bad maintenance by Metroline , nothing new there!! but a good lesson to see for those whose buses do creek especially when turning corners ..
Mark ,
The area Jason refers to is best seen on the front nearside body bulkhead which is where the body and 'A' frame marryup . Its the same fitting arrangement on both sides of the buses A frame . Raise the bonnet , look straight to the back of the engine at the bulkhead and you'll see a large wide channel shaped plate rising up about one foot from the nearside arm of the A frame onto the bulkhead area . This channel plate contains a series of nuts & bolts which marry to the bulkhead with similar platework inside / between the bulkhead panels which cannot be seen . It is the bolts here that Jason refers to , I saw these ' sheered & missing ' bolts when with Dave who pointed them out to me some weeks ago .
Dave is going to attempt replacement of this platework because of the number of sheered bolts which must be dealt with at some future time when convenient . I think its fair to say both Jason and I will be eager to see this happen and with good fortune get fotos for you to see .
The OFFSIDE area , same as above , is visible by removing the front offside inner wing and if it helps further also the offside front wheel ...
