Hi All

Is there a diagram available showing the air/hydraulic system on Cummins engined refurbs? Ours is a little poorly at the moment and a diagram would be invaluable in tracing the problem.

Thank you

AFAIK, the air system on the refurbs is no different to origional, APART from, new air tanks and unloader valves. Some refurbs have new microswitches for the red light, others use the old pressure switch in the air line.

By hydraulic, do you mean the brake system? It should not be too difficult to tell if your problem is hydraulic or air related. Do you have the walker manual?

hi john as steve says much of it is as original but you have some added extras like a pipe to feed the throttle dip hope that helps. regards tim.

Hi All

Thanks the responses. It's a Cummins 'C', so one of the 1991/2 refurbs.

The symptoms are that when I went to take the old girl out yesterday the white (brake) light stayed on and the flag would not rise. Red light (gearbox) went out promptly and gears were available as usual. Because the white light stayed on I dare not move her as the approach to the shed is steep and I doubt the handbrake would give me enough control if the foot brake were not available. As I say, gears available normally. With the security of the handbrake I did engage first gear and there was that reassuring nudge forward as that engaged.

As some may recall, one of the accumulators on RML2603 is past its best so we charge that with nitrogen each time we take her out. Because I was in a rush I didn't discharge the system completely (by pumping the brake pedal) prior to charging the leaky accumulator so perhaps that may have something to do with it. A hard reboot (to use the computing term) in which I fully discharge the system prior to recharging the accumulator again may fix the problem, perhaps? I will try that tomorrow.

On putting her to bed earlier in the week I noticed that the sound from underneath was a little different so perhaps something has changed and needs sorting. It was a kind of a rattly noise. At that time I thought it may have been one of the universal joints on the front prop shaft which, as we know, rotates all the time the engine is running. It could equally have been a jubilee clip dancing along the exhaust pipe. It was THAT sort of noise if you know what I mean.

Thank you
