Hi all ......Rats and mice are presently moving from the grand outdoors into luxury winter lodgings, i.e workshops and vehicles. Through hunger or a desire for nesting they can decimate vehicle wiring and upholstery. Dont just look for animals, but also search for droppings to prove an infestation. Act quickly with red stained grain poison for rats (only from farm supplies outlets) and little nipper traps for mice.(Baited with chocolate; better than cheese.) Don't leave food traces or waste building maerials, rags etc. Check inside vehicles including engine compartments; workshops both in and out weekly if possible. Ian.

John beat me to it. I used large plastic traps laced with peanut butter and caught five increasingly larger rats last year. little evidence of them since but I have no doubt we will be catching them again this Autumn. Get the type of trap that can be secured to a piece of wood or the larger rats will simply walk off with the trap attached to it if it didn't kill it instantly. I've had no guilt since one of the little beggars chewed one of my seats.
