The United States of arrogance
We must do it our way
Shun all intelligence
Disregard historical precedent
Demonize every dissident
It's our way or the highway
We alone are right
We're the greatest nation on earth
It is we who give birth
To nations, corporations
Inhumanely utilize interrogation
Push prisoners around
Overthrow cities and towns
When it's time to go to war
We know how to throw down
Our military might
Makes all wrongs right
We muscle are way in
Plow our way through
We do things our way
That's what we've got to do
No time to listen
No time to consult
No time for diplomacy
It's all about the military
Profiting handsomely
Arising triumphantly
No time to disagree
Nor let opponents simply be
We are the worldwide bully
All must acknowledge and see
That we are likened unto deity
Well, at least in our own eyes
For this reason the nations of the world
Look upon us with hate and despise
When will we "the American people"
Wake up, acknowledge, and realize
That not all things are truly
As they do appear
Not everything we hear
Through the media is truthful and clear
Not every conflict needs to be solved
With a gun, sword, and spear
Propagating perpetual war in pursuit of peace
This will never bring transformation and release.
Cooperation is also an option
Collaboration a possibility
Connecting together harmoniously
Courageously and confidently
Trusting in the hearts of humanity
To engage one another respectfully
Conquer conflict peaceably
Therefore before diving head first
Into brutality and acts of hostility
Let us guard our hearts humbly
Listen attentively and wholeheartedly
Pray fervently and diligently
Before acting hastily
Opposing peoples and nations aggressively
And thereby ignorantly escalate wrongs
By calling it moral and right
Instead let us pursue wisdom and insight
Before we start and create an unnecessary fight
