A message from Peter regarding the album...

Peter posted on Babyshambles.com at 12:07 AM last night/this morning.

The general gist of the post is that it is a track listing.

Check out this link to see Peter's actual post:

http://www.network54.com/Forum/thread?forumid=253130&messageid=1115680038&lp=1115680038

Translated to be easier on the eye, the track listing looks like this:

Babyshambles
Untitiled (New One)
Pipedown
Fuck Forever
Albion
8 dead boys
3 5 2 days
Merry-Go-Round
32nd December
Loyalty Song
In Love With A Feeling
Stix And Stones
A Rebours
Black Boy Lane
What Katie Did Next
Do You Know Me?
Arcady
Monkey Casino
Bollywood 2 Battersea
My Darling Clementine
Wolfman
Back From The Dead
Papa Shingles
Up The Morning
Sweet By And By
9 Songs They Never Play On The Radio
Why Did You Break My Heart
La Belle Et La Bete

There's 28 tracks here - so I can only imagine that this is just a list of everything Babyshambles recorded during their time at Twin Peaks studio and they will be selecting from this lot for the album.

Also, I guess some of these tracks may go on to be B-sides on future single releases.

Some notable absences though in Gang of Gin and Killamangiro. Perhaps if Killamangiro goes on the album they will be using the single version, not a definitive album version. Gang of Gin may have been omitted as there has been some form of reconcilliation between Peter Doherty & Carl Barat, who knows?!

There you go.

Re: A message from Peter regarding the album...

May 11 2005, 2:22 PM

As I explained ((please re-read the original post)) Peter posted the message on Babyshambles.com. There is an active link, double-click it.

FYI: I am not 30, please do not prematurely age me, I do not need that!!

I am 25. I am employed in the music industry; writing, reviewing and, on occasion, some promoting.

I have been a Doherty fan since I came across The Libertines in 2003.

In my line of work I read tons of gig & band news/press releases etc on a daily basis. I use the internet for research too. And I regularly check Babyshambles.com so that if gigs are announced I can be first in line for tickets, simple as.

When I came across this forum (petedoherty.com) I couldn't help but notice that it needed some relevant, adult input - some real information about Peter Doherty (gigs/releases/news) for the real fans, rather than multiple posts by puberty-challenged 14 year old girls who think they "love" Peter because they've seen his face splashed across the tabloid press and hope that he'll read their desperate plea and write back to them!

This forum has the potential to build a nice community of Babyshambles/ Pete Doherty fans, but this will only happen if the calibre of posts improves dramatically.

hi

May 25 2005, 5:31 PM

Please don't stereotype 14 year old girls. I am one and I am not a fan of Pete because i fancy him, I have the same view as you- he is an extremely talented artist! Thanks for the track listing thing though.

Apologies.

**hangs head in shame**

I didn't mean to offend at all, some of the most relevant & interesting posts on here are left by the younger contingency. 2 of the super moderators DarlingSwine & Peteurastar are about your age & they're super peeps....

Sorry if I offended, I was generalising, it was foolish.

Apology accepted!

May 25 2005, 6:12 PM

It is very annoying that everone does tend to think that all 14 year old girls are nieve and fancy everbody. Apology accepted though! I believe in the wise phrase you quoted so no grudges held. How often are you on this website?- you were very quick to reply!!

Whenever I'm working I will have a little peep at the website, check I haven't offended anyone or anything (!) and reply if necessary. I usually check it 2/3 times a day - sometimes more if I'm at my desk and have no attention span for work related things.

This forum doesn't move very fast so you can get away with checking it only once a day and not missing anything important/relevant.

I see. I know what you mean about the website slow moving, i check it when im in an ICT lesson at school but nothing much chances between each glance! You know that list of tracks and the link you gave where there was the same list but written slightly differently and posted by 'Peter'... was that Pete Doherty or what? When is the album due to come out? I heard it was early june.

Re: Apology accepted!

In answer to your questions:

No one is sure what the track listing is referring to - although it is assumed by most that it is a list of all the tracks Babyshambles recorded at Twin Peaks studio earlier this year, some for the album, some for B-sides etc.

The album is due for a summer release.... soonish. There's no definitive date but probably not too long to wait now.

Yes, the link I left on that post was a link to the actual post left by Pete Doherty on Babyshambles.com. It is his most recent posting - there's been nothing since.

Re: Apology accepted!

Hi again,

Mastering a decent command of the English language is the most important thing for all aspects of what I do, especially the journalism (obviously) but it is also important to be able to speak fluently and confidently in any position you undertake.

Always know your job inside out. If you want to work in the music industry; be it promotion, events management, journalism, a&r... whatever, you need to be a bit of a music boffin. It definitely helps to have a real understanding of  the industry, know the players and grasp how everything works. Research and reading is the only way to do this & the more you know, the more confident and competent you will become.

There's some great resources on the internet and some good books which can help you choose a path in the music industry & give you an idea of how best to pursue it.

Meeting people, making connections - it all sounds very 'Hollywood Dahhling!' but it is the way the industry functions and friends in the right places or the odd favour here & there can make or break you. Be nice to people, be professional, help other people out (you never know when they may be in a position to return the favour).

Most important of all - know your stuff - blagging will only get you so far, as many of us have discovered at our cost!

Also, I forgot to mention, subjects to concentrate on... with journalism obviously any media related subjects are an advantage but not essential if you are going to go on and do a journalism degree. English is the most important subject, learn about language & how to use it best. History is a bonus as it extends your knowledge base - gives you a sense of perspective and context for everything. At GCSE level it's not so important to have your career path carved out.

Thanks for that. I don't have a clue what i want to be but i think your job sounds pretting exciting. 1 hitch though- did you say you have to be really confident when speaking to people- even to large groups? Thats not so good! Do you interview people or write reviews on bands and albums and stuff or do you write general stuff about release dates and things. The promoting sounds good. I am taking history for GCSE, so i guess thats a start as everyone takes English as well. I know it doesn't mean much at GCSE but everyone seems to know exactly what they want to do later! (I DON'T) cheers for the info though! Have you heard any more about the release date of the babyshambles album I am rearing to go and leg it to the nearest music shop as soon as it is out!!!

Re: Apology accepted!

Sorry, still not sure what the Babyshambles album release date will be. Keep an eye on www.babyshambles.net because I would expect an announcement there first. www.nme.com are also pretty quick to report anything Doherty related. If I stumble across it I'll post it here.

In answer to your question: Yes, I predominantly review and interview, that's the bones of what I do.

Today I have actually done very little work! I have spent time reading and posting on here and a lot more time trying to figure out why 40-odd Task Manager windows keep opening themselves up on my PC desktop. Working for yourself has these advantages. It hasn't been a productive day.

You will figure out what you want to do when you are ready, don't force decisions... I always question an education system that puts so much emphasis on choosing a 'direction' at 14/15 years old, it's madness. English is compulsory so that's great... think about History though... knowledge is power.

I am not lying- I have had exactly the same problemo with the windows task manager thing, as well as the other windows i have opened up. I don't have a clue what thats all about. Thanks again for all the info, I wont worry too much about my career yet, but if i become a professional in your line of work, i will have sponge_bob to thank!! hopefully it wont be too long until the album comes out eigh? My mums getting fed up with me going on the internet- ive told her its for school- in the half term hols- yeah right!! If my communications are limited and you find out about the release date could you email it to me- my address should come up somewhere (i added it to the message options) thanks!

I have been keeping an eye on both those websites- im a member of the babyshambles forum chat too but its not as good as petedoherty.com!Well done for becoming a moderator by the way- what does that mean- you kind of edit stuff on here and keep things running ship shape? You're very welcome for all the info, it's no problem at all.

If a release date for the Babyshambles album is confirmed I will send you an email, no worries.

IATYQ: Moderator basically means having the ability to edit, delete and lock message threads - that's it. We don't really have any troublesome posters on here or a problem with spam so it doesn't really involve doing anything in all honesty! Enjoy your half term holiday.

Yes mate, they're free. Limewire is also really good for downloading Babyshambles & Libertines tracks. (A tip for you there.)

I will let you know if I hear anything about a tour etc but there are no plans at the moment as far as I am aware. It's festival season so it may be some time.... but you never know!

Limewire is free, yep. And it should recognise Libertines and Babyshambles... I don't know why it wouldn't. Try searching for track names maybe? Sorry can't chat, busy today. Good luck though.

How longs he been off heroin for? Thats brilliant!!!!! And as if we need reminding about the album! Is there still no release date? It probably wont be too long now.
