Babyshambles was class. Alot of moshing and all that, was getting squashed all night by some fat prick behind me. Pete seemed grand, in all fairness the performance wasn't that brilliant but it was Pete Doherty so.... I got the plec too. They didn't do any Libs stuff and didn't play What katie Did.
When he was singing Albion, he put in loadsa names of places in Ireland.
The bouncer was pulling down some croud surfer and Pete was dragging the bouncer off him, and he threw his mic at someone too. Someone also spat on Pete.
Support was deadly, was your man Adam West.... is that his name?
To sum it all up, fucking deadly night. Cant wait to see them again.
Glad you enjoyed the gig. I'm really looking forward to seeing Babyshambles again, but unless they announce some dates in the next couple of months I think it might be Leeds Festival before I have chance to catch them again, boo hoo! Fingers crossed the album will be released in the meantime.

Just spoke with a friend of mine who was there last night in Dublin. He said The Cazals were supporting too, that they were great - way better than Babyshambles (whose performance was hindered only as a result of Peter's condition). Shane MacGowan was also in attendance but apparently not in great condition.
My friend told me that Peter also appeared to be "off his face" last night. He was apparently stumbling around, falling over and vocally not at his best (cough cough) - Drew even had to approach Peter at one point to ask him if he was alright. This is obviously very bad news.
My friend was there in a professional capacity, as soon as I have a bit of a review from him I'll post it here for you lot to peruse.
Urm... I have it on very good authority that he was.
And I quote, "Not as bad as Blackpool, but worse than Stoke".
I wasn't there, but my friend is a professional who has seen Babyshambles play on even more occasions than I have.
We'll wait for the reviews....
The popular opinion on Libertines.org is that he was f*cked too, stumbling and doing that weird screaming thing he sometimes does.
How many times have you seen Babyshambles/Doherty live? Cos last night sounds like a fairly shambolic affair and it's strange that you weren't as disappointed as everyone else. Unless of course you were also off your face. Ha ha, I think I've sussed it!
That was my first time seeing them, all reviews I've read and from discussing it with other people who were there on Saturday it's a totally different story to what your mate's saying. The Trinity Ball was meant to be shite and he was off his face for that.
Pete's a fucking legend, just glad I got to see him. And that was the best gig I've ever been to. So....
People have their opinions, and I'll stick by mine. Let your mate stick by his.
That's fair dos mate, I didn't mean you any offence.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the gig.
I just think that it is different for people who have seen the standard of a Babyshambles gig decline over the past year, in line with an increase in Peter's drug use. And comparing Doherty's performances now with how he used to be on stage in the Libertines back in 2002/2003 is quite distressing, it's like watching a different man - a ghost of his former self.
Yes, I totally agree, Peter Doherty is a legend. He is a great musician and perhaps the wittiest and most powerful lyricist since Morrissey. He can also be a fantastic showman, even when he is fucked up, but when he was in control of his problem he was LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than he is now. It's all relative I guess, if this is all you've seen then you will not feel disappointed. It's a different matter for people who have followed his career from way back when.
