I finally finished Simon 3D. About, what, ---five years behind everyone else? But, I sure am glad that I finished it. What a complex, convoluted game. But, Fun!! I have probably spent three months working on and off on this game, and that is with using your walkthrough. It was definitely a buggy game. Sometimes the screen went black, sometimes, he would turn for minutes in the phone booth, or sometimes disappear, but if I would go to a part in the game where it would reload, I was able to finish it. I only needed three saved games too, and for somebody like me that is keyboard-challenged, that is quite something. I truly wish they wouldnt have put in the timed sequences or the carnival games. I cant do those things very well and would spend my time figuring out puzzles.
All and all, a great game. And thanks for helping me out with it, Mr. Bill and also Mag from Gameboomers. I would still be working on it if it werent for you. No, I take that back. I have a low patience level and I would have quit long long ago. Mr. Bill, how long did it take you to finish this game? I probably would have spent more than a year trying to figure it out. Even with your walkthrough there were some things that I had a hard time finding. Like the laundry mart. I ran and ran and ran and couldnt find that and finally quite by accident I found it.
Also, I cant help but think it would have been more enjoyable for me if it were point and click. No matter how many keyboard games I play, I just dont get used to it. Simon kept hitting the walls, and then of course, there is poor Manny Calavera of Grim Fandango, who must have had a flat head after I ran him into the walls so many times. Of course, the younger generation laughs at my ineptness, they dont seem to have any trouble using the keyboard. Maybe it is because I am blonde, but my brain just doesnt work in sync with a keyboard.
Thanks again for helping me. GREAT GAME. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasnt played it yet and wants to have a very long, fun adventure.
