Legendary games

Hey, I recently changed my PC what's connected with turning my operation system into unfriendly Vista. So my old adventure games aren't working properly. In fact I'm not all about technical stuff so messing with installing older systems is not the answer. Do you know some sites (stores?) I can digitally buy working on today computers versions of old games such as Broken Sword, Oddworld, Simon the Sorcerer and similar?

I would be very grateful for any advice,
A.

Hi Andrew - like you I have lots of oldies and goodies that are useless (although I'm still on XP and not Vista like you). What I'd really like is an old computer with Windows 95/98 just for my own use to play my first games on - the original Myst, Zork Nemesis etc - I've got 'em all!!

I visited some stores with old computeres just for buying some old notebook with 95 on it for my collection, but while talking with my friend about some adress appeared. I've tried gog.com and found there Broken Sword, Oddworld, Simon the Sorcerer - downloadable versions, fully legal.! And I got Beneath the Steel Sky and Lure of the Tempress for free with those mentioned previously, so... For now it's lot better solution than new-old computer.

Whatsomore - those games are working on XP or Vista with no problems happy.gif

ScummVM and DOSBox work well for old games on new operating systems!

Hi Andrew,

DOSBox and ScummVM allow us to play these older games on XP and Vista.

The above ScummVM webpage talks about GOG.com (lower paragraph) which uses ScummVM with their downloads.

Cheers,

Bill
