Have just discovered that several old games are now being reissued as suitable for Windows XP and am eagerly awaiting delivery of Broken Sword I and II. Perhaps they will do the same for Myst and the Zork series? That would really be great!

Well...

This was done for the earlier Myst games (the pre XP games) quite some time ago.. Look for the 10th anniversary edition on DVD.

Well, you learn a little every day! Checked with my favourite mail order outlet and you are absolutely right . . . my next order will be a big one. Thanks Dog for the info, these will see me through for the next few months.
Incidentally, has anyone played the Mystery Case File games, i.e. Huntsville, Ravenhearst, etc, can they recommend?
Happy gaming!

Games question

Good Morning, Pamela; I have played a couple of the games you mentioned. They are all casual games which don't require a lot of thought or work. They all have a basic plot which sends you to different spots, has you locate clues, and then eventually solve a problem. They are lightweight fun for a gamer who has only a bit of time to play.

another good site

I think the name of the place is Great Old games, (GOG) and they have several of the old games that you can download for quite reasonable. I can't figure out how to use dosbox, and they have Simon the Sorcerer and Feeble Files that work on XP and Vista... for 5.99 I think. It works great.
