Now I am thinking I want to play all of my old games on scummvm so I tried loading Woodruff and the Schnibble on it but it didn't work. Any thoughts on how to get it to run?

Linda,

This was the first time I've used ScummVM. You played 3 Skulls with the CD. It would not play from the CD for me, so I had to set up a folder for the game and copy the folders from my CD that ScummVM's wsbsite recommended. Gameboomers told me that often people would have difficulty playing games directly from CDs. Maybe this is your problem.

Good Luck!

Gene machine I can't get working though

August 2 2016, 11:59 AM

I tried loading The Gene Machine using that method and I can't get that to work using scummvm. I was hoping that this scumm engine would help me play all of my old games.

Runs in DosBox - These are not my findings = a guy named Steve14

August 5 2016, 2:58 PM

Game details in DosBox.

Gene Machine - VIC TOKAI (1996)
Tested By: Steve14

runnable - playable - supported
90% (supported)
DOSBox version: 0.63 (supported)

Saving / loading problem (2012-06-16 20:17) TrustSeg

Works great in DOSBox 0.74. Saving / loading will not work with default DOSBox configuration - you have to set cpu cycles from "auto" (defaul value) to "25000". I realized that after I completed ca. 70% of the game...

Note: (2006-02-27 11:08) Steve14

It works great with sound and music.

The only new games with the same appeal are The Book of Unwritten Tales games. I too have trouble with DosBox. happy.gif

Right now we are trying to finish Bud Tucker in Double Trouble on ScummVM. Having trouble at the very end of the game.

Bud Tucker is Fun and a bit corny. Did you ever get a copy of Touche' The Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer. You would love it.

it has been years and I think i need to try it again

August 7 2016, 7:37 PM

I can't even remember if I finished Bud Tucker, but, if it works on scumm, I will give it a try. Also, I have been playing Touche on and off for a while. very fun game! I find myself gravitating to the older games in my old game.

Bud Tucker ending.

August 7 2016, 8:59 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if you did not finish it. Lela and I nearly didn't. Do you remember trying to get a roller skate from the foot of the curator of the museum and a nail there also plus girls hula outfits. There is a bug or two in that area.

had to start over

August 12 2016, 1:17 PM

There was no way to get the brush anymore as I couldn't get more coffee to give to the wino and I had already talked to Sebastian (as far as I know) but, now I have the brush and am going on. This is a fun old game and I am so glad it works on scummvm

Did you find a brush mentioned in a walkthrough?

August 12 2016, 1:43 PM

Hi Linda,

Did you find a brush mentioned in a walkthrough? If not let me know where it is. Sounds like a possible dead end in the game.

Cheers,

Bill

PS: We are playing Flight of the Amazon Queen and Touche'.

yes, after that part I saw that in the walkthrough

August 12 2016, 3:34 PM

but I couldn't go back to that part. after I gave the wino the coffee and talked to Sebastian, i couldn't go back to the title screen to get the brush. but, I started from an earlier save and now have the brush so hopefully I will be on the right track now.
