Additional info: We were going to try a mix between Brass Monkey and
Strawberry Fields,
but that wasn't going so smoohtly. By chance I heard Come Together on the
radio, and the little Organ riff from
So What'cha Want popped into my head. Laid down the Organ sample as our main
beat, and actually played the Bass line
from come together (couldn't get a second sample to lay down right). Jason
suggested we turn this into sort of an
"Odd Todd" theme song. So it's part Beastie, part Beatles, part parody, and
part tribute.
I LOVE your track!!! I was telling my sis tonight that I would dub even just the background if I could. It fits perfectly. It's like mac and cheese... meant to be together....
Plus, you A-holes came up with your own lyrics. I'd buy you a Waterstone myself and make out with your lead singer if I could!!
Yup... that organ riff hooked me. All the instruments were played very well too. The first guitar solo actually sounded John-esque, which was an especially nice touch. This song was fun... nice job, folks!
That's awsome you guys enjoyed it so much!
Our original stuff is a little different, a bit more U2 than Beastie, but with a wink at the Fab Four now and again. Check it out: www.revolverweb.com/discography.shtml
nice job, you definitely are the best entry by far.
that being said, is it just me or is your mash missing the come together part? i've listened to it but just can't here which part of come together youre "mashing" in your song - it can't be the chorus because i just dont hear it. am i missing something?
just to clarify my question - i just read above that you said you did the organ riff from the beastie boys song and the bass line from come together - so it that how you chose to mash it - not with the actual melody of the chorus and all that. thats what i meant.

hey, i'd love to trade some gigs. i haven't had a chance to really check out your band (other than the song up here) but i'm going to this week. side note... you have a bad ass song with size 24 shoes. why is it not kicking the ass it should? it smells fishy in here. you don't have to answer that... this is your song thread and all. anyhow, i'll email you this week. thanks for the kind words about my song.

I have'nt heard the song yet but I'm about to so I'll let you know what i think. Jason If you read this anytime soon send me an e-mail at mrsilver28@yahoo.com. you know who it is.
Check out the entire song, you'll catch the Come Togther bass line, and
the chorus melody. Jason did some great Beatles-esque guitar riffiage at the end of the song - you'll miss that stuff in the 30 second clip.
Actually, I agree that TaxGirls is quite good too (and I can't get that dang Girls xylophone-type riff outta my head now) ... Choosing between those two, it's really just a matter of taste.
How can Fight by CRash be ahead of your song and Taxgirls? I hope this doesn't turn out into another American Idol thing. I think this and Taxgirls are the best. Can't make my mind up though between the two since I love the perfect song for Odd Todd but Taxgirls rocks as well.
