I've seen a lot written about older Irish mafias in the U.S., but only small messages on the current state of Irish gangs or mafias in Ireland and the UK. What stories are there about groups such as the Crumlin Gang, Rattigan Gang, Drimnagh Gang, Gavin/Thompson Faction and the Westies of Dublin? Or the Ryan Family, Keane Family or the McCarthy Dundon Gang of Limerick? I've heard that the Limerick episodes were more a case of knockers...not sure if they qualify as organized crime. Anyhow, would love to know more about that side of the puddle.

the gangs in Ireland mentioned in the paul williams book are just a crowd of scumbags with no loyalty to each other.
the main gangs in Ireland are white collar. I guess over the years and with the country becoming richer than then old english masters, they have learned that money is the real power. they can rent hired guns from the influx of eastern europeans into the country as cheaply as in the 3rd world.
the Irish are a tough people to do business with, if you fall foul.
there are so many illuminati type gangs of white collars from politics to waiters!
look at the amount of irish with russian business partners, quite scary. the irish also own more property in spain and portugal than the english. this is with a poulation of only 4 million
the irish seem more than able to manage their russian and eastern european business partners. i guess this is because they were the original gangs who have evolved
