Jackie is long deceased, dead from the excesses of life in Hell's Kitchen, Jackie was a tough and likable man with a great since of humor. His widow is alive and doing well after a long period of hardship due to the same environment. The three children John (Not Little Jackie) Jason and Tiffany are nearby and frequent the neighborhood but live elsewhere. Despite the fact that John is currently doing a year upstate for doing someone a favor in obtaining party goods. They are for the most part blue collar working tough kids. If not for his last name, John probably would have gotten probation and he and Sean (Eddie's nephew not "butcher jr) are basiclly down to earth kids, not the leaders of any organized anything. If fact John inherited his father's sense of humor and most people would have a good time hanging out with him. He is a tough guy but suprisingly doesn't likebullies and I have personally seen him defend weaker people even from his own family. John and his brother both have big hearts and I respect the hell out of them as They do me. Considering their rough childhood, I'd say they grew up as good if not better then anyone could expect. John jr looks more like Jimmy than Jackie. Jay is black irish with dark hair and blue eyes. |

The guy above is speaking the truth. There have been lame Internet rumors about a "Little Jackie Coonan" running what's left of the Westies in Manhattan and offspring of Eddie Commisky being a part of it and all nonsense. There is no Westies anymore. And as noted above, Jackie Coonan, brother of Jimmy Coonan, died a long time ago of AIDS. |

Finally a post that speaks the truth on this forum. Both John and Sean are hardworking members of the stagehands union, live outside of the neighbourhood and not the second coming of the Westies. The Westies died in 1988 and the neighbourhood is changed. Jimmy's kids were out in NJ and grew up in a different world. Hell's Kitchen bred tough kids, but that is changed now and thankfully the kids of these men did not have to go the same route as their fathers. |

True. HK is so gentrified (lived here for 4 years and a life time NYer) I don't think there is any trace of the Weties left. The people on this post seemed pretty knowledgable. For those guys are there any bars left or places in HK where any vstiges of the Westies are left? Just curious cause I can't help but thining of them when I walk the streets... | |
