New to the site. Love it. I grew up in the Boston area and ran with a few guys back in the 70s and 80s. Wonder what everyone thinks about the recent rash of books. IE The Brothers Bulger, Brutal, An Irishman & A Criminal, Street Soldier, Rat Bastards. Hard to say who has the most accurate information.

Hi there, glad you like the site and welcome! I've read all of those books- I suppose for the most intimate portrayal of Whitey then Kevin Weeks account has to be the most revealing. He was there for all the murders that Whitey commited. I liked Pat Nee's book and admired his patriotism for Ireland and how he always stood up to Whitey. And you have to admire Red Shea for not ratting!

I agree to all of that but I thought that in Red Shea's book he was full of himself. I have found that a lot of guys that talk that tough are usually not. However I do admire the fact that he never ratted.
