Described as intelligent, cool under pressure and most important, in keeping with the sacred code of the Irish, a stand up guy, Eddie Boyle is an Irish American gangster of very high standing. 43 yr old Boyle is currently serving time for a Staten Island murder in 1998. Along with close links to Gotti and the famous mafia cops Eddie Boyle was also known to have close links to Miami night club owner Chris Passielo, who was a magnet for Madonna and a host of other c
celebrities in the 80's. According to a report linked below there could be a movie about this guy.

Speaking of movies another rumour floating the rounds is that Gotti had so much admiration for Edmund 'Eddie' Boyle that he used his sway to pull Mickey Rourke from a Westies movie where the portrayal of Eddie's character was said to be far from flattering. Whether this movie was 'State Of Grace' or another project that failed to get off the ground I have no idea. Here's the clip from SHO NUFF MOB Study:http://gangstersinc.tripod.com/ShoDec1404.html

What is the name of the soldier who John Gotti was seeking to protect?

According to Michael "Mikey Scars" DiLeonardo, the mob rat, the late John J. "Dapper Don" Gotti asked Mickey Rourke, the bad-boy actor, to bow out of his role in a movie based on the THE WESTIES, the T. J. English (March 15, 1991) novel, St. Martin's Paperbacks; Reissue edition, ISBN: 0312924291. John Gotti made the request because in the movie there was an unflattering mention of a Gambino soldier.

John Gotti "feared the flick would reflect badly on one of his trusted soldiers." Mickey Rourke complied with John Gotti's wishes.

What is the name of the soldier who John Gotti was seeking to protect? Is that soldier Edmund "Eddie" Boyle, the Irish-American Gambino Crime Family associate? Link: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime_file/story/260419p-223001c.html

Eddie Boyle is a member of the Brooklyn-based mob crew headed by Thomas "Huck" Carbonaro, the Gambino soldier, before the onset of Huck's legal problems as a co-defendant in Peter Gotti's current federal conspiracy trial.

The fact he played such a prominent role in a crew of highly skilled robbers working for him 'The Night Drop Crew' or 'The Boyle Crew' makes him another Irish criminal in the great tradition of Irishmen such as James Burke, the K&A Gang, the Brinks robbers as well as tons of specialised bank jobs and art thefts around the world including an alleged Boston swag on St.Patrick's Day 1990(which has yet to be solved) which rolled in an estimated $200m. Highly skilled operators who know what it takes to pull off big scores and keep the money rolling in. No-one pulls a big score like the Irish.

I have heard Eddie Boyle is as serious as they come. Very well liked.

According to the testimony from Scars, Gotti asked Rourke to bow out of State of Grace because he thought it would be an accurate portrayal of the Westies and reflect badly on Danny Marino. A friend of Gotti actually asked TJ English to keep Marino's name out of the book when it was originally published. Here is a part from an article:

"According to testimony from mob turncoat Michael (Mikey Scars) DiLeonardo, the mob boss asked Rourke not to do the movie for fear it would reflect badly on Daniel Marino, the reputed Gambino family go- between with the Westies.

"I remember at a certain point Joe Vecchio calling me and asking me if the name Danny Marino was in the book and then telling me I have to remove Danny Marino from the book," English told The News' Tom Zambito. "I said, 'No, I'm gonna leave it in.' "

That certainly makes alot more sense. It's been a while since I've seen 'State Of Grace' but don't remember an Eddie Boyle type character. Did he get a mention in any of T.J English's books? I can't remember hearing his name mentioned. Bit strange if he didn't but then again he left out the K&A and loads of other shit so it's possible I spose.

Rourke used to be a member of either the Vagos motorcycle gang or the Mongols, I can't remember which.

Plus, when Gotti was on trial, he used to show up and try to gain sympathy and credibility for the old man for the jurors.

I guess that didn't work.....

Anybody remember the other Irish knockaround, Gotti associate, Eddie Mahoney?

Truth is stranger than fiction. Look it up, it's legit.

Matter of fact, the same m/c gang also pretty much extorted him in many ways, but he didn't roll and go to l/e with it.

Mickey always fancied himself a m/c tough guy.
