Saw 'What Doesn't Kill You' again the other night. Great film and far more authentic than 'the Departed'. Performance from the fella playing Brian Reilly is
pure quality and for showing the true reality of the daily grind of a life of crime I'm not sure I've seen a better movie. Mobsters don't look like Di Caprio and films like Goodfellas have too much 'look at us we're the wiseguys' bullshit to be a true reflection. The accents in 'What Doesn't Kill You' were authentic and the actors were local fellas which gave the film a gritty edge the Departed lacked. Cracked me up some of the scenes, know plenty like the Brian Reilly character.
Anyone know who the mob boss named Pat Kelly character is based on by the way if, as I assume, they've changed the names around? No way was it Whitey cos he was too small time but big enough to have some weight around Southie by the looks of it. Anyone who hasn't seen it though, make sure you do. Great mob movie. And if you ain't seen it Andy, bear this fella in mind for a part in Clan. He'd be great for a part in it. Blinding actor.

Mark Ruffalo might be a bit out of your price range...his next film he is co-staring with Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Martin Scorsese...just sayin
