In your new spirit of openness & truthfulness, can you provide details of all your officeholders & current paid-up members?

In addition, can you also disclose details of how many of your honorary members (JK Rowling etc) actually donate (or4 have donated) money to your cause?

Hon. Members are not obliged to pay subscription (hence the "Hon" status). If any have made voluntary donations, we would not divulge it.

Ordinary member details would not be divulged; no particular reason, other than privacy, etc.

With regards to Officers, the names of the principals are here:
http://www.bwmaonline.com/Contact.htm

We only release one address; otherwise it causes mayhem with mis-directed post, causing delays and loss. Also, Officers sometimes get long and irrelevant phone calls, so home numbers are carefully restricted.

There are other Committee members but I am not sure they would want their address details released, again for reasons of privacy. Their names are available in our AGM records, available to members.

Thanks for your speedy response BWMA.

Having reread my original post, I must apologise for not making it absolutely clear that I was requesting the number of members - not their actual details.

It does read like I'm asking for the names & addresses of individual members - please accept my apologies!

Again, in my second question, I was only requesting numbers - not actual details of donations. Would you be able to give a figure like "xx Hon Members have donated £yy over the last year?"

The membership level varies from year to year. It currently stands at around 600. I think the lowest it's ever been is 300, and the highest 1,000.

I do not know the answer re: Hon Member donations. At a guess, I would say it could be £50 here, £100 there by some of them. I cannot be certain, as it would mean trawling through old bank statements and correspondence.

Celebration

September 10 2005, 1:53 PM

To celebrate ARM's new "ammendment operations" ( LMAO) to further publicise the VBM cause and thereby getting the metrication job completed, I have celebrated. Made a quick call to another recently found lb/oz scammer. I wouldn't really be that bothered but he was trading not 50 metres from a chap with legal pricing, ( kg only ). So it was a very clear example for the TSO concerned of an honest trader being disadvantaged by a lb/oz scammer. How much do you think his fine will be? Will bwma pay it for him from the Sun's "Save Our Scales" contributions ;) ?
Oh, the last one I reported was changed to a per kg only trader within a week and with just one phone call. Was funny to walk by recently and hear him calling "lovely fresh cherries, £2 a KEELOW". ( Two weeks before it was " a paand a paand".) Nice to see him drop his price too.

But Steve - this board is asking Q's to BWMA. That's what I was using it for - it's not meant for debate.

Ooops - I'm debating now!

Who is Mr King btw?

What is going on?

Steve/Stimpy made some relevant points here, but they have all been deleted. I believe he has commented on this before.

I know that the post above is idiotic, and that Steve rightly pointed it out - but not in any way that you have previously suggested would result in deletion.

Why the censorship? Are you only leaving idiotic posts on the front page? It does make me question who makes these "anonymous" or "new person" posts.....

Please respond rather than delete this post.

Oh my God!

It's happened again!

The nutbag post remains yet my comic response "diffusing" the bile of the "me" poster gets deleted!

And here I am being defended by a pro-metric poster!

IS there any point me wasting my keyboard time?

Tony - 'av a word will you? You should know who to ask.

Oops

Looks like I'm going to be put down at the Vets on Saturday.

I bit a bloke selling food in Pounds and Ounces.

How come I get put down but Cats can get away with it?
